How to Care for your New Cutting Board, Rolling Pin, or Bowl

Your new cutting board, rolling pin, and bowls will be wonderful additions to your kitchen utensils and will last for generations when they are cared for appropriately.  All of our kitchen items are treated with 100% natural mineral oil due to its ability to soak into the wood and protect its natural beauty and durability, as well as the fact that it is completely food safe.

It is important to wipe your wood kitchen utensil down following use with very mild soap and water and dry off immediately with a towel. Allow it to stand and fully air dry.  Do not allow the utensil to soak in water, and remember that it is not dishwasher or microwave safe.

As your utensil is used, it is normal for some of the shine to begin to fade. Simply apply mineral oil to a paper towel and wipe the utensil down and the shine will return. We recommend that you wipe it down with mineral oil about once a month. Mineral oil can be purchased at most grocery stores or pharmacies.

If at any time you feel your cutting board has become too scratched up, simply sand it down with sand paper starting with 150 grit. Work your way up to 400 grit.  Wipe it off completely with a clean towel or cheese cloth. Lastly wipe the utensil down with mineral oil again and your board will look brand new.

By following these very simple care instructions, your beautiful kitchen utensils will prove to be family heirlooms for generations to come.
